Load Sensing: When a load is applied to hoppers, tanks, or the TMR feed mixer, the shear beam load cell detects this load. The sensor contains a shear beam structure that experiences slight deformation under the applied load.
Resistance Change: The sensor typically uses strain gauges to detect the deformation. These strain gauges are bonded to the shear beam, and they measure changes in resistance to determine the applied force or weight. The greater the load, the more pronounced the deformation of the shear beam, resulting in a more significant change in resistance of the strain gauges.
Signal Conversion: The change in resistance is converted into an electrical signal, usually an analog voltage signal. This signal can then be amplified and processed by signal conditioning circuits.
